Dr. Kent W. Boyum - "Funding Assistance, Planning, Engineering, and Implementation of Sustainable Projects"

The speaker intends to cover planning, engineering, permitting, and funding requirements for individuals, neighborhoods, school districts, business owners, and municipalities. Projects that will be discussed include a licensed “Living Machine” wastewater processing system, solar collection systems (both PV and hot-water collection), wind, biomass, and geothermal systems. Funding sources from federal and state sources will be discussed along with utility companies rebate programs for individuals and major accounts including school districts, universities, and municipalities.

Kent W. Boyum Ph.D., MA, MBA

Dr. Boyum is an experienced businessman, educator, ecologist, and toxicologist. He is a published author and holds domestic and international patents for his work. Kent has 28 years of research, business, teaching, and entrepreneurial experience. He was awarded: 1990 Who’s Who of American inventors for a microbial soil amendment product and its application in agriculture; and was a 1993 National Science Foundation- SciMat fellowship recipient, studying sustainable agricultural processes and systems.

His Doctoral research was funded by Duke Power and Light and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and he has a long running interest in energy and its effect on natural ecosytems. He currently holds the position of the Director of the Vedic City Rebuild Program and is a representative of the DOE Rebuild America program & the Iowa DNR’s Rebuild Iowa program.
